Lu’la began as a personal need before it ever became a brand.
Finding hijabs that felt right in quality, in presence, and in identity was always harder than it should have been. The name Lu’la comes from the founder’s name, Lulu, and carries a deeper meaning. In Islamic tradition, modesty and the hijab are often likened to a pearl, known as lu’lu, something rare, protected, and formed quietly beneath the surface. A pearl does not seek attention, yet its value is undeniable.
That symbolism became the foundation of Lu’la.
Modesty, like a pearl, is not about hiding from the world. It is about being preserved, intentional, and strong in your own space. It is about carrying beauty with dignity.
